Spitzencluster-Wettbewerb gewonnen!
Am Dienstag, den 26.01.2010 hat Bundesforschungsministerin Annette Schavan die fünf Sieger der zweiten Runde des Spitzencluster-Wettbewerbs des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) bekannt gegeben. Eine hochrangig besetzte, unabhängige Jury unter Vorsitz von Prof. Dr. Andreas Barner, Sprecher der Unternehmensleitung der Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH, wählte die neuen Spitzencluster aus. In Clustern sollen Unternehmen, wissenschaftliche Einrichtungen und verbundene Institutionen regional entlang einer Wertschöpfungskette zusammenarbeiten.
Damit steht dem geplanten Exzellenzzentrum für Medizintechnik nichts mehr im Wege. Betreut wir das künftige Exzellenzzentrum vom "Medical Valley Europäische Metropolregion Nürnberg e.V.".
Konkretes Ziel des Projekts ist der Aufbau einer flächendeckenden Testumgebung für innovative telemedizinische Produkte und Dienstleistungen, wobei sich Netscouts entsprechend mit Personalkapazitäten, technischen Ressourcen sowie einer Testumgebung einbringen wird.

Netscouts nimmt an Spitzencluster-Wettbewerb des Medical Valley EMN e.V. teil
"Kompetenzen bündeln" lautet das Motto der Europäischen Metropolregion Nürnberg (EMN), des Medical Valley EMN e.V. – und Netscouts befindet sich mittendrin, denn Netscouts ist Teilnehmer des Spitzencluster-Wettbewerbs Medical Valley EMN.
Unter der Leitung von Prof. Dr.-Ing. Erich R. Reinhardt (Siemens AG), Prof. Dr. Heinz Gerhäuser (Fraunhofer IIS) sowie Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Schüttler (Universitätsklinikum Erlangen) ist der Medical Valley EMN e.V. mit seiner Projektskizze „Exzellenzzentrum für Medizintechnik“ in das Finale des Spitzencluster-Wettbewerbs vorgerückt. Das Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF) unterstützt die EMN im Fall eines erfolgreichen Abschneidens im Spitzencluster-Wettbewerb mit 40 Mio. Euro! Das Medical Valley EMN ist unter den letzten 10 Bewerbern (5 Bewerber erhalten einen Zuschlag des BMBF) und aufgefordert eine vertiefende Strategie einzureichen. Mittelfristig sollen hierdurch in der Metropolregion Nürnberg bis zu 2500 Arbeitsplätze geschaffen werden.
Konkretes Ziel des Projekts ist der Aufbau einer flächendeckenden Testumgebung für innovative telemedizinische Produkte und Dienstleistungen. Bei einem Zustandekommen des Vorhabens wird sich Netscouts dementsprechend mit Personalkapazitäten, technischen Ressourcen sowie eine Testumgebung einbringen.

Ask-IT movie
Within the framework of the ASK-IT project, netscouts personnel accompanied test participants on their test routes through downtown Nuremberg. Several tests with the ASK-IT software were carried out in Geo-Routing-Scenarios. ASK-IT should become an integral part of daily life through its intuitive and easy handling. Netscouts supports the ABI
Since November 2008, netscouts has been the official partner of the “Aktionsbündnis für barrierefreie Informationstechnik (AbI)”. At netscouts, disabled individuals check websites for accessibility and, if necessary, re-design or re-programme non-accessible websites, whereby all relevant standards are observed. Netscouts was asked to join the Coalition because of its core competencies in the barrier-free sector.
ACCESSIBLE
ACCESSIBLE is an EU FP7 project spanning over 36 months, start date 1st September 2008, with the aim of improving the accessibility of software development products, by introducing an harmonised accessibility methodology into accessible software development processes, using significantly better measurement strategies, methodologies, etc. The envisaged improvement will enable large organisations, SMEs or individuals (developers, designers, etc.) to produce software products of superior accessibility and usability, accompanied with appropriate measures, technologies and tools that improve their overall quality.

Mobility in Nuremberg
“miN – mobil in Nürnberg” - such is the title of a City Guide, published by the City of Nuremberg, which contains ample information on the accessibility of various buildings throughout the city. Currently, “miN – mobil in Nürnberg” is available only in book-form, but now netscouts, in cooperation with the “Amt für Existenzsicherung und Soziale Integration” (Social Services Department) is developing an online service. To this end, every building (i.e. offices, hotels and other Nürnberg attractions) is being re- inspected for accessibility. In the future, all updated information shall be downloadable for computers as well as for mobile phones or PDAs via internet access. Netscouts shall provide all data updates and the necessary programming. It goes without saying that the internet presence will be barrier-free (www.mobil-in-nuernberg.com).
