Last Updated (Thursday, 12 May 2011 09:38)
„miN – mobile in Nuremberg” is the name of the city guide published by the City of Nuremberg which provides information on the accessibility of numerous public sites and facilities. Previously “miN – mobile in Nuremberg” was only available in the printed form; at the request of the Social Welfare and Social Integration Department a new web service has now been developed by Netscouts. The listed public sites and facilities, such as governmental offices, hotels and places of interest in Nuremberg, were retested for accessibility and a database was established which can be easily updated. Subsequent to the festive online activation through Mr. Dieter Maly, Mr. Norbert Roth, Mr. Harald Konschewitz and Dr. Mathias Ringler, since 27th of January such actualized information can be downloaded via the internet under www.mobil-in-nuernberg.de to computers, mobile phones and PDAs. Netscouts provides all data updates and the required programming development. It goes without saying that the internet presentation is structured barrier-free.
All
visitors to the „min
– mobile in Nuremberg” site have at their disposal
information on
the accessibility of public sites and facilities in Nuremberg in a
simple and intuitive navigational structure. It is of no consequence
whether the visitor navigates with a mouse or keyboard, as all
information can be equally accessed in either manner. The focus on
easily understandable language also makes it simple for foreign
guests and citizens to understand the site contents. Individuals
having visual impairments have the option of selectively changing the
font size or design. An English version has also been planned for
the near future.
