REMOTE
The pan-European research project REMOTE (Integrated and modular system for remote health and social care to support independent living of elderly with chronic conditions living in rural and isolated areas) started in June 2009 with a duration of 36 months. It aims to enable elderly, sick or disabled people to live as long as possible in their familiar surroundings with the aid of telemonitoring. This includes various kinds of audiovisual as well as sensomotorical monitoring and automation abilities for tracing vital functions, activity, interaction and health condition.
Partner of the REMOTE project are 15 companies, institutions and research centres from eight countries which jointly develop new concepts for telemonitoring.
